Jym's Shorts - February 4, 2021

This week I would like to share a message (with permission) from LifePoint’s missionaries to Uganda — Justin and Debby Williams. I think you will find it uplifting. I know I did.

Man do I have a great story for you guys today. This is a story that needs to be told because it's easy to forget how good God is.

A few weeks ago, I received an email from one of the many beloved brothers and sisters at our home church in Indianapolis called Lifepoint Church. The message deeply touched my soul as this wonderful mother was asking me how much it costs to support a student on Buvuma Island. The reason for her inquiry was because her 10-year-old daughter (Molly) wanted to donate to send a child to school (or so I thought). I don't know about you, but when I see a young person giving to the Lord like that, I get SO EXCITED because it reveals what is going on in their heart.  So I explained that it costs $140 per year to send one child to school. I was so touched by this offer that I agreed to match Molly's contribution towards young people that she has never met and most likely never will.

YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS GREAT, CHECK THIS OUT.
The response that I got back made me cry for joy to the Lord. Hello Justin, said the message, that is very kind, but we want to let you off the hook with that match. You see, Molly has saved $2,000 and is so excited to see what God will do with that. (I'll pause here while you pray and thank God like I did for this incredible news). I read it again and again in just joyful disbelief. So after some consideration, we decided to match what Molly is doing from our ministry account and this will now enable a total of 30 students to go to school for the first time ever. Micah (Justin and Debby’s son) and I will make the long journey out to Buvuma on February 19 to go village to village and deliver this incredible news in person.

As I've shared this story with people in this community, in our school, and in our circles of influence, the response has been jaw-dropping. For the first time in a long time, children at our school want to be a part of this financially. For the first time in a long time, people forgot about the news and saw the unstoppable God at work through a ten-year-old girl in Indiana. For the first time in a long time, people dreamed about who these 30 children would become and who they would impact for the cause of Christ. For the first time in a long time, a true sense of hope pierced the darkness of this crazy world.

Molly at 10 years old, you are a world changer and I couldn't be more grateful to partner with you. God will never forget what you have done here (Hebrews 6:10). My prayer is that you will get to see what these children become as they take the most important message into a world that desperately needs it. If you don't, however, I believe that we'll see the massive harvest in heaven.  Lifepoint Church, thank you so much for continuing to lovingly support families as they raise their children to be world changers. God, most of all, thank you for this very powerful reminder that you are not done with us and that you love us so much.

HALLELUJAH! HE IS ON THE MOVE!

As an end-note, let me just reiterate what Justin said in my own words. I am so pleased to serve as a pastor in a church that, as a general principle, has such a deep heart for the gospel and world missions. Well done LifePoint family!

Grace and peace,

Pastor Jym
