In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe and our own border issues here in the States, I thought I would simply direct you to what I think is an excellent article by a Christian brother by the name of Tim Challies. He writes what I believe, and what I believe the Scriptures teach, and I wouldn’t be able to write it any better in my own words. So, take some time today and read this short article entitled “A Call for Christian Extremists.” I found it truthful, and yet somewhat painful, because deep inside of me remains a root of retaliation and anger that, when not resisted by the Fruit of the Spirit, wants to relish the thought of radical Islamists getting their just rewards here on earth. Rather than praying that they would hear the gospel and be saved, I can, in my darker moments, secretly wish for their destruction. I thank God that Jesus didn’t feel the same way about those he came to die for. More directly, I thank God that Jesus doesn’t feel the same way about me.
