Jym Shorts - April 11, 2024

As many of you know, Josh Krumenacher, who served with us for the past three years as our Pastor for Middle School Students, has decided to move with his family to Burundi, East Africa to serve as a full-time missionary with Sister Connection. Josh, Michelle, and their three boys will work with widows and orphans: caring for their needs, sharing the gospel, and teaching. The Krumenachers have served in multiple capacities at LifePoint over the years and will be greatly missed, but we are pleased to be able to support them now with our missions dollars as an extension of our LifePoint family in Burundi!

Josh stepped away from full-time ministry with us in mid-January. Since that time, Dave Kerr, our part-time Director for Middle School Students prior to Josh, has stepped back in on a part-time basis to care for our students while we began a search for Josh’s replacement.
Dave and his wife Heidi have been a huge blessing to us over the years, and their ministry with our middle school students over the past few months has been wonderful.

Pastor AJ Hillebrand, our Pastor for Student Ministry, put a search team together at the beginning of this year and initiated a search to fill this very important role within our church family. By God’s grace, we landed quickly on a candidate that some in our church knew from past student retreats at Twin Lakes Camp in western Indiana. After initiating contact with this candidate and spending the past few months meeting with and interviewing him, the search committee made a recommendation to the LifePoint Elders to consider Jared Law for the role as Pastor for Middle School Students. The elders have concluded their meetings and interviews with Jared and have offered him the position.
We are very happy to inform the family at LifePoint that Jared has accepted the offer and started in his new role on Monday of this week.

Jared was born in Tallahassee, Florida but grew up in Denver, Colorado before moving to Indiana when he was in 7th grade. He was raised in a strong Christian home, the son of an associate pastor and music minister.

Jared came to know Jesus at the young age of six-years and was baptized shortly after. Though, by his own admission, there have been ups and downs in his walk with Christ, he has no doubt of his salvation and continues to strive after and pursue a relationship with Jesus. He graduated high school in 1998 with no clear direction as to what was next for him. Soon after, he met his friend John. John was seventy at the time but began a discipling relationship with Jared. He and John began to pray and read the word together. During that time Jared completed his bachelor’s degree in communications at IUPUI as well as his master’s degree in Christian Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Jared and his wife Whitney were married in 2008 and have four children: Tucker-12, Piper-10, Brooks-8, and Blair-7. He enjoys hunting and fishing when he has the time but most of all he enjoys being with his family and exploring new places and having new adventures together.

The Laws have most recently been serving at Twin Lakes Camp. However, Jared has past experience in pastoral ministry working with students and in worship arts.

Pastor AJ and Dave Kerr will be working with Jared over the next few weeks to acclimate him to the ministry here. We will soon introduce his family to you on a Sunday morning. In the meantime, if you see Jared, Whitney, or their children, please welcome them to life and ministry here at LifePoint.
We’re excited to have them with us!

Grace and peace,

Pastor Jym
